The Opportunity
Our highly dynamic team of planners are seeking another quality person to join our team. We are seeking a Senior Planner to join our growing team based in Melbourne to work on several challenging and exciting projects across Australia. These projects range from major linear infrastructure, industrial land development and significant environmental projects from feasibility, through construction and operation. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with suitable experience to work alongside a team of passionate statutory and environmental planners.
The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing technical inputs and deliverables as well as applying their technical skills to complement a wide range of projects. This exciting opportunity provides you with the chance to work across the business in addition to your day-to-day core abilities. Joining a growing team will require you to display versatility and agility, work collaboratively across business lines, manage the day-to-day business and explore growth opportunities for the business.
Working closely with our national planning team, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing and reviewing Planning and Environmental approval applications for a range of clients;
- Coordination of technical specialist reports;
- Community engagement and stakeholder liaison;
- Environmental Impact Assessments;
- Project management;
- Preparation of tenders and proposals;
- Client relationship management
What we’ll like about you
We are looking for an experienced planner with the following:
- Degree in town planning, environmental planning or an equivalent qualification;
- Demonstrated planning experience;
- Extensive knowledge of VIC planning legislation;
- Preferable knowledge of Federal and other state planning legislation;
- Proven experience in a similar role within a consultancy firm, council or government agency;
- An existing network of client contacts and enjoyment of growing your network and building new relationships;
- Highly organised with the ability to effectively prioritise and manage expectations;
- Experience in working across various sectors (including Defence, Industrial, Power, Water, Transport);
- A desire to work in a team environment is essential;
- Excellent communication and listening skills;
- A willingness to travel.
