About Andrew Holmes MPIA
Andrew Holmes is the Young Planner Director. Andrew is a member of the Board’s Education Committee and is also Chair of the National Young Planners Convenors Committee. Andrew has been involved with the Tasmanian Young Planners since 2018 and being the Tasmanian state convenor from 2021 to 2022.
Andrew is interested in transport planning and the interactions it has with space and place. His planning thesis delved into the management of car parking across Australia, and his engineering thesis determined the optimum transport mode for the Northern Suburbs Rail Corridor from Hobart to Glenorchy. Andrew holds a Master of Planning, a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons), and a Bachelor of Philosophy.
Andrew has a background in local and state governments across multiple roles, including project management, policy development, planning, and development engineering. Andrew has also worked in the private sector. He is looking forward to working on the Board and helping to raise the voice of young planners nationally.
